El pueblo unido. jamas sera vencido!
This song comes from Chile during the Allende socialist administration which was short lived, due to a US coup in 1973, installing a horrid dictator named Augusto Pinochet, who relentlessly tortured and terrorized his own citizens. This song became a call to action for anti-Pinochet elements and is perhaps more recognizable in English to many of you, who I’m sure will recognize the phrase
“The people united, will never be defeated!”
With every attack on the workers we grow not weaker but stronger, only when we are apathetic are we weak. And we have friends and allies all over the globe as an international class of oppressed people, in Nicaragua, in Chile, in France, in Greece, in Russia, in Egypt, in Afghanistan, all over the world in places you would never suspect.
We have our own culture of working class ethics and music. It’s time to join in with those who have more in common with you than your government of the Fortune 500 by the Fortune 500 ever will. The international working class wants you!
